TMI Project has teamed up with the Center for Creative Education and Kingston’s own Energy Dance Company for the African American Cultural Festival. Join us for a free performance featuring an exuberant dance performance incorporating excerpts from true stories the dancers crafted during a true storytelling workshop.

And don’t miss TMI Project’s table at the festival. Stop by to learn more about Black Stories Matter and other programs. There will be an opportunity for everyone to share their story and have a portrait taken by our photographer.

True storytelling can change peoples lives, empower them to release shame and stigma and become more powerful activists and leaders, build relationships and connections and deepen empathy and compassion cross-culturally. By sharing true, deeply personal stories, we can get to know each other on a human level and transcend the labels that currently keep us separated.

Festival: 1 – 7pm
TMI Project Performance: time TBD

About Black Stories Matter

Black Stories Matter is TMI Project’s way of making an impact in addressing incidents of hate, bigotry and racial injustice in our local community while also participating as an organization in the national outcry of injustice. TMI Project’s mission with Black Stories Matter is to elevate the underrepresented stories of the Black experience in America – the full spectrum – the triumphs, humor, beauty and resilience.
